Deeyah Khan is one of Norway’s most internationally celebrated documentary filmmakers. She is a two-time Emmy and BAFTA winner, and the recipient of numerous other prestigious honours, including two Peabody Awards, an RTS Award, and the Peer Gynt Prize.

Known for her fearless filmmaking and rare access to some of the world’s most dangerous and violent individuals, Deeyah has spent over a decade telling powerful, deeply human stories about some of the most pressing issues of our time, including jihadism, white supremacy, violence against women, and reproductive rights.

Her films Banaz: A Love Story, Jihad, White Right: Meeting the Enemy, America’s War on Abortion, and Behind the Rage have received international acclaim and led to real-world impact. Several members of extremist groups have publicly renounced hate movements following their encounters with her.

Born in Oslo to immigrant parents, Deeyah is the founder of the media production company Fuuse and was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Artistic Freedom and Creativity.
